Giving Voice Choruses Sing into Spring, Our 2023 Concert Season

Join us for a celebration of songs that connect! Come join us for a collection of uplifting songs that will bring joy to your heart. Spring means concert season! Friday, May 12th, Saturday, May 20th, and Sunday, May 21st.

Our choruses will show a different side of what it means to live with Alzheimer’s. It is possible to live well with dementia. There is still friendship, laughter, joy…and music! After working hard all semester to learn a repertoire of fabulous music, we are ready to entertain you and make your heart sing!

Giving Voice Crosstown,  Friday, May 12th at 11am, Meetinghouse Church, Edina

Our Edina chorus, Giving Voice Crosstown, will be kicking off our spring concert season on Friday, May 12th at 11:00am at Meetinghouse Church with “Music of the Decades”, a collection of songs from the top of the charts of the ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s.

The Giving Voice Crosstown performance will include a special appearance from 29:11 International Exchange on their tour of the U.S. all the way from South Africa and host Kare 11 reporter Karla Hult founder of SoManyGoodbyes.com.

Giving Voice Chorus Minneapolis, Saturday, May 20th, 11am, MacPhail Center for Music, Minneapolis

Our Minneapolis chorus will be performing on Saturday, May 20th at 11am at MacPhail Center for Music in Antonello Hall. “Songs we Love to Sing,” is a retrospective of our favorite songs chosen by our chorus members from songs we have sung at past concerts.

We’ll sing in a variety of popular musical styles covering folk, ballads, Brazilian bossa nova, 2-beat, and waltzes. We invite you to come and hear our personal favorites!

Along with the amazing pianist and accompanist Lou Ann Henderson, we’ll have a quartet of MacPhail Center for Music artists! Paul Babcock on drum set (President and Chief Operating Officer of MacPhail Center for Music), James Allen, guitarist, and Tom Pieper, bassist. We’ll also feature Kristyn Rupp on violin, Manager of MacPhail Music for Life.

Giving Voice Chorus St. Paul, Sunday, May 21st, 1pm, Minnesota JCC Capp Center, St. Paul

Giving Voice Chorus St. Paul will perform also perform their selection of “Songs We Love to Sing” on Sunday, May 21st, at 1pm at the Minnesota JCC Capp Center, in the auditorium.

We’ll travel down country roads, look to the rainbow, and fly to the moon in this concert of SONGS WE LOVE TO SING! (hint! hint!) From Doris Day to the Monkees and from pop concert halls to sacred spaces, we are thrilled to share this vast array of music that will have you dancing in your seat and smiling in your heart! See you at the JCC!
